Thomas, the director of our Nantes business unit, shares with us how this hub has developed and grown to reach 200 Project Engineers. Today, this is the largest MIGSO-PCUBED team in Western France, specializing in PMO and Project Management.

New Engagements in Telecoms, Insurance, and Finance

Thomas, how has the Nantes Business Unit won so many new projects after and even during this critical period?

When I think back to March 17, 2020, I can’t hide the fact that we were all very worried. We didn’t know what was going to happen. Nevertheless, we quickly realised that this unprecedented situation was an opportunity for us to succeed in what we had not managed to do sufficiently in recent years, due to a lack of time and available resources. We needed to develop new markets and conquer new sectors. Our mobilisation from a business point of view has always been very strong, the only difference was that now, all of a sudden, a large number of consultants found themselves available to follow us in this conquest. We were able to turn the risk of putting many projects on hold into an opportunity, and we succeeded!

What can you tell us about 2021?

2021 has been an incredible year for us; our historical clients have recovered very strongly and continue to follow us. I would even say that they trust us even more now, thanks to our crisis management. We have also opened new sectors, such as Telecoms, and strongly developed partnerships with our recent clients in Defense and Renewable Energies. A very busy, rich, and encouraging year since we have passed the 200 Consultants mark in Nantes!

What are the next goals for the Nantes Business Unit?

Obviously, we are going to do everything we can to remain the number one partner of our historical customers, but also to build loyalty among our new customers. We will continue to diversify and to enable our teams to work on large industrial projects.
Successfully transforming our methods and organisation, investing in and strengthening our Western French team, and opening four new agencies in the near future are all part of exciting projects we are developing.

Transformation and PMO projects

Can you name 3 key projects your teams are working on?

We are very proud to support clients such as Airbus and EDF in the implementation of their major transformation projects. Our consultants are also involved in the biggest R&D projects and programmes such as Galileo*, the 3rd generation submarines with Naval Group, or the Zero Emission Aircraft with Airbus.
In addition, we are highly involved in the field of renewable energies, in particular wind power with GE Renewable Energies’ Haliade-X, and the connection projects for these same wind turbines, notably with RTE.

*Galileo is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) created by the European Union as part of the eponymous programme, including a space segment whose deployment is due to be completed by 2024.

What is the Nantes “specialty” – if there is one?

A fair amount of creativity and a pioneering mindset. Being able to put a circle in a square, we prove it every day!
To develop the western part of France, we need ambition and a real team spirit. The region is large and has a tremendous wealth of industries, which allows us to offer a diversity of sectors and services to our consultants and clients. And, most importantly, we love to innovate!

Thank you, Thomas!
