MP UK joins the Major Projects Association

MIGSO-PCUBED (MP) has joined the Major Projects Association (MPA) to further collaborate with UK organisations on the successful delivery of complex projects and programmes. Their MPA membership and engagement will be pursued alongside the complimentary and long-standing Corporate Partner membership of the Association for Project Management (APM). The application was approved by the MPA’s Board in August 2023 and membership became effective October 2023.

The Major Projects Association is a community of practice for organisations engaged in the initiation and delivery of major projects, programmes and portfolios.

MP attended the MPA’s annual dinner and conference on 9^th-10^th October at the De Vere Latimer Estate in leafy Buckinghamshire. The MPA’s events team had arranged for insightful presentations from leaders of some of the Government’s highest profile projects including the New Hospital Programme, the Lower Thames Crossing and STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production). The panel discussions that followed allowed an exchange of views and best practice for all 100+ delegates.

A key value of the Major Projects Association is having a diverse mix of members from different sectors and types of organisations enabling rich conversations and sharing of ideas. We’re delighted that MP has joined the Association and look forward to them contributing to our mission of improving the initiation and delivery of major projects through their extensive experience, expertise and relationships.

Example takeaways included promoting progressive value delivery through all project stages, and the recommendation that all projects have an innovation stream. These insights will be shared within the MP organisation, and they are preparing future contributions to the knowledge sharing agenda.

MP will be supporting the MPA’s next events. In November the Manchester Hub Lead will join the ‘Initiating & Delivering Major Projects in Regulated Industries’ conference, and in January the ‘Transforming Transformation’ in London appears a match for MP’s delivery knowledge.
