Why choose our programme?
Earn while you learn
As an apprentice employed by MP, you will gain relevant project management experience whilst obtaining a BSc degree, building your network, and gaining industry-recognised qualifications. Our apprentices start as project analysts, working alongside our experienced consultants on real-world projects.
80% of your time will be spent working on a client engagement in an MP project team where you will support project delivery. The remaining 20% (1 day a week) of your time will be spent studying towards your degree.
Find out more about the programme on the University website.
Professional development
Apprentices will take part in MP’s Career Pathway Model (CPM) which is made up of a career and competency framework as well as review and promotion process for all employees. During this time, readiness for promotion and salaries are reviewed.
The Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship course is accredited with the Association for Project Management (APM). As a student at Cumbria University, you’ll be able to join as a member of the APM and gain access to a repository of digital resources, attend events and more!
MP has a wide variety of internal training courses that are accredited and non-accredited as well as access to LinkedIn Learning. These internal courses are open to anyone in the business and will build knowledge and expertise outside of your apprenticeship degree.
MP support
Apprentices are supported by a large network including a buddy, a career coach, and not forgetting the wider MP community. There is plenty of opportunities to get involved in wider initiatives we have at MP – Apprentices are encouraged to join any of our Communities of Practice or Communities of Passion (CoPs) which are internal groups of employees who share a passion for what they do. These CoPs will help you network as well as support your learning, client, and internal work.
You will also have support from your fellow MPower Apprentices and University tutor throughout the programme. We have a growing Apprentice community who meet regularly to share learned experiences, provide support, and in person socials!
