As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Mexico, our team is proud to collaborate with Niños y Niñas de la Sierra, a local non-profit organization in Querétaro that provides excellence in education to children and youth with outstanding learning aptitudes from low-income backgrounds in the Sierra Gorda so they can finish their studies and unlock brighter professional futures.
When creating this project, we thought of giving back to our communities by sharing what we do best: Project Management. By applying PMO tools and methodologies, we provide two tangible deliverables that bring value to the organization, as part of our voluntary service.
Our collaboration has focused on two meaningful projects:
Bringing visibility to student performance
To strengthen transparency and access to education records, our team developed interactive dashboards that generate annual report cards for children in elementary, junior high, and high school. These dashboards cover around 200 student records and allow them to receive clear annual report cards that help families and teachers track progress online. In addition, we designed five pre-made template dashboards and databases to ensure sustainability for the next five years, along with a user manual for continued use.
This project incorporated automation, data visualization, performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboard design, ensuring that information is accurate, easy to access, and strategically aligned to the organization’s long-term educational goals.
Digital Platform for Administration
Niños y Niñas de la Sierra faced challenges with an external partner in moving forward with the launch of a new platform – a tool designed to centralize their administrative activities such as registrations, sponsor management, student records, KPIs, etc.
To overcome these obstacles, our team is applying strategic time planning, stakeholder management, governance frameworks, risk management, and structured meeting cadences to guarantee a reliable launch in 2025 and long-term sustainability of the platform.
This is only the beginning of how project management can transform communities.
Through these projects, we aim to help Niños y Niñas de la Sierra strengthen their processes, expand their reach, and continue providing children with a safe and dignified future. This experience shows that by sharing our PMO knowledge, we can create meaningful change beyond business; reminding us that there are many ways to give back, and even small contributions of time and expertise can open the door to brighter opportunities for others.
Special thanks to Alma Mariana Reyes, Aidee Requenes, Valeria Vargas, and Diana Corona, who led these projects with great dedication and diligence. As project owners, they invested extra time and effort to ensure successful delivery, achieving results that truly add value to the organization and our local community.
