Four multidisciplinary teams made up of students from Tecnológico de Monterrey gathered at MIGSO-PCUBED Mexico’s offices on September 10 to wrap up a five-week challenge developed as part of the Socios Formadores program.
MIGSO-PCUBED Mexico’s Commitment to Education
Throughout this period, the students were challenged to think like PMO consultants in the automotive industry, developing deliverables aligned with the role, such as the Project Charter, WBS, and Resource Allocation Plan. Additionally, given the ever-changing nature of the industry, they faced a simulated change in their project’s scope, putting their risk analysis and monitoring skills to the test.
A Real-World Connection with Industry
Tecnológico de Monterrey’s renowned Tec21 educational model promotes learning through challenges that address the growing needs of the industry, aiming to prepare graduates to tackle the challenges they will encounter in their professional careers. These challenges, implemented by organizations partnering with the educational institution, present real-world scenarios designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and business realities often found in traditional educational approaches.
MIGSO-PCUBED Mexico participated in the program for the fourth time as an industry partner, taking responsibility for designing the challenge that students would undertake as part of their academic curriculum. Under the guidance of four consultants from the same business unit, the students put their knowledge to the test, developing innovative solutions from an external perspective.
Beyond a conventional academic project, the students applied the theoretical concepts they had learned in the classroom and gained firsthand experience of what it means to be a consultant at MP. Furthermore, many of the participating students were subsequently contacted by the TAPs team to begin the recruitment process, highlighting the program’s added value as a source of emerging talent.

A special thank-you to Emilio Martínez, Fátima Santander, Melissa Urbieta, and Alejandro Gómez for leading the teams and dedicating extra time to answering their questions, helping ensure the successful completion of each project.
