London, United Kingdom – MIGSO-PCUBED (MP) were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ (second place) in November 2020 for the Association for Project Management’s ‘Contribution to the Profession: Consultancy’ awards.

The Association for Project Management (APM) is the chartered body for the project profession, with over 30,000 individual members and more than 500 organisations participating in their Corporate Partnership Programme. The APM host a yearly awards ceremony where projects, individuals and organisations from a broad range of sectors and countries are recognised and celebrated for their incredible achievements over the past year.

This years’ awards process began in April 2020. The first stage was a 3000-word written submission which MP began to write alongside understanding the impact COVID-19 was having on their business. The themes for the submission are largely prescribed:

For the second stage of the process, MP, along with two other shortlisted consultancies, delivered a 30-minute live presentation to a panel of judges. Due to the global pandemic, this year’s second stage process was slightly different and was delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams. “Via typical MP teamwork we formed a presentation structure, built some great graphical slides and rehearsed our way towards the September judging session’ said Mark Sorrell, Head of Public Sector UK for MP.

In November 2020, the black-tie awards too were held virtually with a live streaming link available to anyone across the globe, united to celebrate the very best of the profession.

“The online results event was an early evening event and the team decided that black-tie was still appropriate” said Sorrell. “The APM put on an upbeat virtual awards ceremony and after recognising several excellent individual and project efforts it was time for our category. Unfortunately, the audio feed from my laptop was lagging and it was the groans of my colleagues that I heard before the announcement. My initial feeling was one of deflation; so near to winning but proud of our effort!”

MP are proud of consistently placing in the APM’s awards. They have also been placed in the top three for this award in 2019 and were successfully named “Project Management Consultancy of the Year” in 2017 and 2018. Winning two years in a row is very rare.
