Case Study: Agile PMO for Digital Innovation Transformation


MI-GSO | PCUBED were engaged by a major UK retailer to provide a central Project Management Office (PMO) function on a multi-million pound transformational change programme, supporting the client’s strategic objective to know their customers better than anyone else.   This digital programme required a departure from the more traditional gated approach, to a more blended hybrid agile approach.

MI-GSO | PCUBED designed, implemented and tailored the PMO service, working alongside and supporting the Scrum Masters and Product Owners, to increase the adoption of Agile across the program.  Our team ensured all 200+ internal and external programme stakeholders were aware of the benefits of Agile, and provided the appropriate reporting metrics for informed decision-making.

The team then designed and set up 12 key processes including a robust Governance Framework for the programme and regulation of agile ceremonies, integrating and aligning both agile and waterfall environments. Establishment of a bespoke Enterprise Project Management solution, provided comprehensive visibility of programme status, along with secure storage of information.  Identification and set up of required project plans and road maps for different areas of the programme, in addition to a master ‘integrated’ programme plan, allowed for timely management of risks and issues to minimize adverse impact.
